This Weeks Message From Matthew
New Deacons and New Excitement
Submitted by Matthew on Mon, 03/08/2010 - 16:48.I am so excited about the great men that would put in as deacons this past Sunday. We are incredibly blessed to have such a large pool of talented Christian leaders to draw from in the congregation. As a congregation we are blessed to have Rob Burton, Jason Cameron, Jim Casey, Jim Green, Kevin Mullins, Kyle Mullins, and Rory Schmalzried serving the congregation in this new capacity.
By adding these new deacons, I believe that there is going to be some more energy and activity in the congregation. One of the elements that I am super excited about is the focus on building a children’s ministry that Jason Cameron will be leading. This is a great blessing to the congregation because of the need to build faith in our next generation. The Cameron’s will develop a “Children’s Environment.” This is huge because this expands the outreach of the congregation. Often single mothers struggle with bringing their children to church because of the demands of having the children sit through an entire worship service. People feel that the congregation is looking at them and judging them if their children do not behave. You know as well as I know, this is not the case, we are just so happy that the children are here that we never want to judge them, but people still feel this burden. Having this ministry makes church so much more meaningful to all the parties involved, the children and the mother. If we say we are a guest friendly church, we must prove it with ministries like this.
This is just one example of all the new ministries that we are adding. Thank you men for stepping up and being deacons! We as a congregation are blessed to have you. When you unleash great leaders in a congregation, through the power of God, great works happen in the name of Christ.
